New Tights from the Pornshack

Today was a huge dissapointment, due to the fact that I was supposed to tattoo my boyfriend, but my mentor took most of the stuff I needed home with her for the weekend, so I couldn't do anything! So lame, I wanted to cry. Going more than a week without the slightest amount of practice really does, well, put me out of practice. Oh well. There are more weeks ahead.

In other news, I have decided that in spite of all the dissapointment of today I could at least treat myself to new tights. No, I didn't just want them, I actually needed them. Yes, God forbid if I actually need something. My existing tights (from the Pornshack I like to call American Apparel) have lasted me a good year and some (Amazing! I know), but have suddenly decided to make extra ventilation for my knees. In other words, they have finally ripped to the point where my mother started making 'street walking' jokes. Thanks mom. Personally, I don't mind ripped up tights, or ripped up anything for that matter. At least I don't do it on purpose, most of the time.

So on my journey towards unholiness (tights, in context), I wandered over to the said Pornshack (a.k.a American Apparel, in case you don't notice the ads) and picked myself up some of the same black stirrup tights that I have grown to love over the past year. And just because I like to stay away from this place as much as possible, I picked up another pair; but in gray! Sweet baby Jesus! But can someone explain something to me? Why would a pair of a more simple styled stirrup tights be twice as expensive? Less fabric, same material, $38 as opposed to $17!? What?? My guess is that they weren't made by children. Buuut I hope I'm wrong.

Well, I will leave you with a nice photo of my hoe-bag tights. Hey! I should be in an American Apparel ad! Enjoy!

Rosie Pit

Well, not quite in the pit, but close! One of my best friends got her black and grey rose today. It's not an easy spot to sit for a while, but she did really well and it turned out great! Next week; the candy piece gets more color! Stay tuned!

I need my fix!

I'm going through tattooing withdrawals! The past couple of weeks have been busy, or I have been pretty sick so there hasn't been time to tattoo anyone and it sucks! The next week looks promising though. I will probably be tattooing one of my best friends from high school, which is exciting as well as nerve wracking. We shall see!

I just felt like ranting since there is nothing else to update on. Until next time!

OM NOM NOM!!

And so Sarah decided that she wanted the outline for her leg done a week after I did her cupcake. So, here it is! The start of my first big color piece!

My other friend Gizelle came in yesterday to get this script around her back, encircling an existing tattoo. It was a struggle trying to get her in ASAP, because she leaves for Australia next week and it would be best if the tattoo healed in time. Unfortunately, it was the soonest I could get it done so she will have to try to fight the temptations to go swimming for a week while she's on vacation. But in the end it turned out well and she is super excited about it! And so am I, for my first script piece!

OM NOM!

My first color tattoo! This is on my friend Sarah, and she wants to add more candy and deliciousness to create my first big piece on her leg! I am so excited to work on more, it's going to be so much fun. More progress to come! But for now, try to enjoy the tasty cupcake.

From Russia with Love

My friend Andrew came in to get his tattoo today, which he has patiently been waiting for for awhile now. It is a simple outline of a Russian Orthodox cross, a sort of memorial tattoo for his Grandmother that past away recently. It was my seventh tattoo, and it turned out quite nicely. I was a little worried because it was the first super straight lined piece that I have done, but the lines look pretty straight to me! The only thing is, some of them came out thicker than others, so I had to go back over a bunch, and the last line that I did turned out even thicker, so I stopped there before I made anything else worse. If worse comes to worse, I can always fix it in the future if it really bugs him, but it's nothing to be too worried about. He is a guinea pig and he came to me knowing that. It's all a part of learning! But all in all, I am pretty happy with it, and so is Andrew, and once again I am very happy to be a part of something so meaningful to someone.

16 Bones

Today I tattooed 16 bones on four different people! It was on the members of the Black Death Boners, a former local band as of last thursday. Only one of them has been tattooed before, and everyone else took it very well. They were getting this tattoo of their band logo because their drummer is moving away on friday, and even though the band broke up, it is something they can always remember. It was also their first tattoo (save the drummer), and they did it together. And I got to do it! How cool is that? It really does mean a lot, to everyone in many different ways. It was a really cool experience, and I'm happy to have been a part of it!
